Abductors collected N100 million as ransom, says Methodist Prelate

The Methodist Prelate has said his abductors collected N100 million as ransom.
THE NATION REPORTERS reports that Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Sam Uche, stated today that the people who abducted him alongside a bishop of Owerri Diocese and his Chaplain collected the sum of N100 million as ransom before they were released.
They were kidnapped last Sunday on their way from a church programme in Okigwe, Imo State to Isuochi in Umu Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State and were released yesterday.
The Prelate at a press conference at the Hoare’s Memorial Methodist Church, Yaba, in Lagos revealed that the church paid the sum of N100 million, handling N20 million each in five sacks to the abductors.
He also recounted that neither the government nor the security officials attempted to secure his release.
