Murdered Osun LG Chairman Buried Amidst Tears (Photos, Video)

The reinstated Chairman of Irewole Local Government, Osun State, Mr Remi Abass, who was reportedly killed by hoodlums, has been laid to rest.

Mourners, overcome with grief, gathered in his hometown on Tuesday as he was buried according to Islamic rites.

Islamic clerics led the funeral prayers, offering supplications for the deceased.

It will be recalled that Abass was killed during an exchange of gunfire while attempting to take over the council secretariat in Ikire.

Several others sustained injuries in the incident.

Following the chaos, hoodlums reportedly stormed the highway, firing sporadically into the air, causing panic among residents.

Motorists were forced to make detours to avoid being caught in the crossfire.
