OSPOLY New Constitution Review Maintaining Progress

• OSPOLY new constitution review has been maintaining progress.

THE NATION REPORTERS reports that the Students’ Union Committee/Constitutional Review Committee of Osun State Polytechnic, OSPOLY, Iree, has finally reviewed the constitution for the Students Union.

Recall that on 24th Nov, 2021, the Students Union Government election was botched by many uncertainty.

However, the School Management resulted that the students leadership deck must not bear a vacuum and ordered that students from different departments and faculty to set up the constitutional review committee in order to review the constitution of the Students’ Union Government which was the major reason of the botched election.

On 23rd Dec, 2022, Olanipekun Boluwatife pka DIGNITY was appointed as the Students’ Union committee/ Constitutional Review Chairperson (Acting SUG PRESIDENT) with other ten members teamed up as OSPOLY REBIRTH TEAM.

They were appointed majorly to review the constitution which caused the last election to be cancelled and also to carry out other activities of the union.

They started the constitution reviewing on 17th; Jan 2022, after NANS visitation to the institution together with the school faculty presidents and NANS representatives. After series of meetings with both faculty presidents and NANS representatives, the constitution unbalance state was revived and restored including therein changes that will facelift the institutions union back alive.

On 2nd of June 2022, the Constitution Adoption congress was held where the generality of the students after several dialogue of the congress proceeding, conceded to alignments of the reviewed new document which will hence become the union constitution.

Speaking with the chairperson of the constitution committee, Dignity said: ‘Though it wasn’t easy getting this task done, but with vivid and victory ascertaining spirit, we have got this done. All thanks to God and all hands that has been on desk for the Constitution reviewing, reviving and restoration of the union at the same time. And I must reiterate this that with the help of God and my Team we shall rebirth ospoly union back to an enviable height among her peers.
