Owo Massacre: Amotekun Deploys Officers To Churches, Mosques In Osun

Amotekun has deployed officers to churches and mosques in Osun.
THE NATION REPORTERS reports that following the incident that occurred at Owo on Sunday 5th May, 2022 which claimed the lives of many worshipers at St Francis Catholic church, Owo, the operatives of Western Nigeria Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun, has deployed the personnel of the corps to Churches and Mosques in the state to secure and protect the worshipers during service.
A statement by Osun Amotekun Spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu, on Sunday, said the measure is to ensure adequate security to all the residents of the state.
“The incident that happened at Owo was saddened that’s why Osun Amotekun swift into action by put all measures together to secure the residents of the state against any form of attack”.
Speaking about the objectives of corps, the Amotekun Spokesperson stated that they aim to strengthen the security apparatus in the state and protect the lives and property of the residents of the state against any form of criminality.
“The corps would continue to adopt proactive security strategies against any form of security threat in the state.
“Sufficient personnel had been assigned to provide security for the churches and Mosques in the state.
“We are also patrolling the entire state against any form of security threats.
“We will continue to map out comprehensive security measures that will enable us to apprehend all kinds of criminals in the state.
“We have deployed corps to all the churches and Mosques in all the nook and cranny of the state to secure our people from any form of attack by the criminals.” the Spokesperson said.
He assured the residents of the state there is ‘no course for alarm”.
He solicited the support of clergy men, Imams and Alfas, traditional rulers, traditional worshipers and stakeholders in sensitizing residents to volunteer information that would aid corps and cooperate with the corps in apprehending criminals in their midst.
