Muse Peace Foundation Empowers Widows in Ebo Olobi Community
As part of her effort in fostering community development and social inclusion, Muse Peace Foundation empowered widows in Ebo-Olobi Community, Olorunda Local Government area of Osun State.
The program was held on the 23rd of July, 2022 with the aim of putting smiles on the faces of women who as a result of their husbands’ demise have experienced diverse challenges and difficulties ranging societal discrimination to financial challenges. In the course of the verbal engagement, the widows expressed their utmost need for shelter, feeding, financial supports and survival among others.
In the same vein, the Muse Peace team urged the widows to stay strong and focus on grooming their children to become responsible individuals who are conscious of peace making in their immediate societies and indeed the entire nation at large.
Furthermore, as a show of love and a way to give back to the community, Muse Peace Foundation gifted the widows food and cash items to demonstrate to them that true love does not only come from the family but also from the society.
In the words of the Executive Director of the foundation, Timileyin Gabriel Olajuwon, he mentioned that their inner joy is the most important tool they all need to drive forward, he emphasized that inner peace and a composed heart regardless of all odds, are critical to stay happy and keep their mental wellbeing in shape.
In line with the organization’s goal of peace building and social inclusion of people of all ages, cultures and races; the program ‘Widows Gifting” is part of the women and youth empowerment agenda – an initiative program set aside to empower women and youth at the grassroots and rural communities in order to create a saner society safe for everybody to live in.
Thankfully, the organization’s mission was accomplished as the widows’ hearts smiled and they indeed found peace again within themselves.
