-
Senator Adeleke has spoken with Atiku in Ibadan today.
THE NATION REPORTERS reports that the Osun State Governor Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke and many others were in Ibadan, Oyo state to receive Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the people’s democratic party in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Earlier, Atiku was received by the deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal at Alakia Airport.
He was also received by Ifeanyi Okowa, the party’s vice presidential candidate, Osun Governor-elect, Senator Demola Adeleke (Imole-De), Osun Deputy-elect, Kola Ogunwusi, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarunmi, Dr. Lere Oyewumi, and Liyel Imoke.
Representatives from Ekiti state, Ondo State, including Arabambi, a PDP candidate for the House of Representatives from Osun, were also among the prominent stakeholders of the party also present.
The presidential aspirant was in company of Aminu Tambuwal, Dino Melaye, Aliyu Babangida, host of others.
Atiku would be consulting with South West PDP leaders today to discuss plans to win the 2023 polls and resolve all lingering issues in the party.
However, while speaking with Atiku, Adeleke said: “The last time we hosted you, I was the party’s candidate. But today, whether they like it or not, I am the governor-elect of Osun State. When next we will be having a grand meeting, you would have become the elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the special grace of God.
“I warmly welcome you to the South West, which is your second home. You are part of us in the Yorubaland and we are one with you. We know you and you know us. You are a pan-Nigerian leader. As a unifier, bridge-builder and tested leader, Nigeria needs you. Your candidature is the tonic Nigeria needs to regain her vitality.
“I can say that your economic blueprint is the best in terms of workability and applicability. You are the man to salvage the sinking ship of Nigeria.
“I want to use this platform to call on Nigerians as a whole, to rally round the PDP, our presidential candidate and his running mate. I can assure you that Atiku’s presidency will restore peace, stability, prosperity and hope in Nigeria.”
