JUST IN: Fire Guts Popular Bank In Imo

Fire has razed popular bank in Imo.
THE NATION REPORTERS reports that fire has razed a branch of a first generation bank at Ahiara junction in the Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
It was learnt that millions of naira were lost during the inferno.
According to reports, it was gathered that the outbreak started from a nearby fuel station and spread to the bank where it destroyed the structure and assets.
A source who doesn’t want his name on print said that the inferno started on Tuesday afternoon.
The source said “The inferno started from a nearby fuel station and spread to the First bank building and destroyed it. Assets worth millions of Naira were lost.”
When contacted, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoyo, confirmed the incident.
He said that it took efforts of fire fighters from Owerri and the community residents to quench the inferno.
