Attack On Muslims: Arafat Islamic Centre Applauds Ooni’s Intervention, Sues For Peace

Arafat Islamic Centre has applauded Ooni’s Intervention on the attack on Muslims in Ile Ife.
THE NATION REPORTERS reports that One of the leading Islamic organizations in Nigeria, Arafat Islamic Centre, Ilesa has applauded the intervention of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwunsi over the attack on Muslims by the Oro worshippers at Idiomoh Mosque.
In a statement on Saturday by the director of the Arafat Islamic Centre, Ilesa, Alhaji AbdulWasiu Jimoh appreciated the fatherly and unbiased intervention of Ooni .
He said, “The decision of the paramount ruler to order the arrest of head of Olorisha worshipers in the town, to offset the medical bills of the injured Imam and renovate the damaged Mosque is a welcome development.
“The assertion on of the concept of Freedom of Religion by the Ooni is another reason to applaud him.
“The declaration by the Ooni has further reemphasize the need for every Nigerians to be able to carry out his own religious rites without necessarily restricting or infringing on the fundamental rights of other citizens.
“The Nigerian Constitution guaranteed freedom of religion for everybody in order to maintain peaceful coexistence amongst all citizens, therefore no one is expected to debar or prevent other religions adherents from performing their own religious obligations or force them against their wishes.
“With the latest intervention of the Imperial Majesty, Arafat Islamic Centre is using this opportunity to appeal to all religions adherents to bury their grievances, embrace peace and continue to maintain peaceful coexistence with each others as they have always do and not to allow the issue to cause dissatisfaction amongst all the residents of Ile-Ife in particular and Osun State in general.
“The Centre is using this opportunity to pray for prolong reign of Ooni on the throne and also pray for peace and stability in Ile- IFE in particular and Osun State in general.”
