JUST-IN: Jibrin Emerges Deputy Senate President
Senator Barau Jibrin on Tuesday emerged unopposed as the Deputy Senate President of the 10th National Assembly.
His nomination came after that of David Umahi, a former governor of Ebonyi State.
Saliu Mustapha, a member-elect, backed the nomination.
Recall that THENATIONREPORTERS earlier reported Godswill Akpabio, a former Niger Delta minister and governor of Akwa Ibom State, has been elected as the 10th Senate President of the National Assembly.
Abdulaziz Yari was defeated by Akpabio, the All Progressives Congress’s chosen candidate, to succeed Ahmed Lawan.
