Leaked Audio: Why I Framed My Brother For Misappropriation Of Funds – Senator Iyiola Omisore’s Sister Speaks
Following a viral audio indicting immediate past National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, for allegedly misappropriating funds meant for the 2022 governorship election in Osun State, among others, his sister, Funmilayo, on Saturday, declared that political enemies of the former scribe in the state instigated her to frame her brother.
It would be recalled that an audio had gone viral where a female member of the Omisore family was heard, accusing Omisore, who is also a former deputy governor, of the said misappropriation and not assisting any family member while he was in office as APC scribe.
The Omisore family, from across the country and in the Diaspora on Saturday led by Pa Folarin and Hon. Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, converged in Lagos, saying that the matter had been finally resolved in the spirit of unity for which the family is known, even as they maintained that Omisore family remained united.
Speaking at a press conference to clear Senator Iyiola’s name, her sister, Mrs Funmilayo Omisore, a business woman, said she had no reason to accuse the former lawmaker of wrongdoing, pointing out that it was political enemies of the former deputy governor in Osun State that pushed her into the act.
She, however, begged for forgiveness from the senator, the family and all those mentioned in the audio.
“I came to this press conference to clear Otunba Iyiola Omisore’s name.
Also speaking, president of the Omisore dynasty, Hon. Ipoola Omisore, said the apology had been taken in good faith, describing the former APC scribe as the star of the family.
“Gentlemen of the press, we are the entire family of Omisore worldwide. This is a press conference to tell the whole world about the feelings of the great family.
“Recently, an audio came out scandalising the name of our very respected son, brother and father, Senator Iyiola Omisore, the star of the family in Nigeria and in diaspora.
“We have delved into the matter as a family, everybody in the world knows that the Omisore family is united and in that spirit of unity, we have come out of the meeting. We have seen the face behind the audio. She has apologised and we accept her apologies in good faith. Iyiola Omisore is a star of the family,” he said.
Head of the Omisore family, Pa Folarin Omisore, said members came all the way from Ile-Ife to sort out the matter, expressing appreciation to God for allowing them to resolve the issue amicably.
“We came all the way from Ile-Ife to sort out this matter when we heard that someone was trying to cast aspersions on the star of the family. Thank God we’ve been able to sort things out.”
