Dr. Samaila AA Rukuba Reacts As Tribunal Plateau Governorship Tribunal Reserves Judgements

The Jakadan Zaman Tare, Dr. Samaila AA Rukuba has reacted as the Plateau State Governorship Election Tribunal sitting at Jos High Court, reserved date for judgement into the suit filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Nentawe Yiwatda against Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The petitioners, in a suit no: EPT/PL/Gov/03/2023 between Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe and APC are challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) 1st Respondent, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, 2nd Respondent, and his political party, PDP, 3rd Respondent.

Reacting to the development, he said:

SEN. NAT BALI & JUSTICE MAHMUD, President TINUBU and Atiku. Representative Ogochinyere and Uzodinma, on and on and on.

Political emasculation encapsulated in judicial Regalia.

Judiciary as the last hope of the common man, is working silently to truncate Democracy once again, 1983, 1993 and now 2023, you will notice a pattern of indecorous use of judicial independence. So highly political that oozes spectacular injustices, indirectly calling on the Military. We reject these patterns.

The judiciary in Nigeria has been accused of being a tool of the ruling party and of being used to suppress dissent and silence opposition. In recent years, there have been a number of high-profile cases in which the judiciary has been accused of proven bias and corruption.

The judiciary has also been criticized for its slow pace of justice and for its failure to address the needs of the popular poor and largely marginalized.

The military has a long history of intervening in Nigerian politics, and it is possible that it could do so again if the judiciary is seen to be failing again and again in its duty to uphold the constitution and protect the rights of citizens.

However, it is important to note that the military is always a force for correctional good, at all times if the Judiciary capitulated and it is possible that its intervention could make the situation restructurable.

Ultimately, it is up to the Nigerian people to decide whether or not they want the military to intervene in politics. But agents of provocation are sprawling the domain of democracy albeit unaware of the ultruistic remediations.

How could judgement be paralleled in same similar situations.
What happened to ratio decidendi? Judicial precedents akin to conclusive position in similar regards.

Nigeria must not to be collapsed by the few known albatross as it happened in 1983, 1993, and now towing the line for 2023.

Established constitutional provisions are deliberately subjugated and or interpreted against prima-facie. I’m afraid as the political cloud is being darkened by visible injustices.

We warn the Tribunals to avoid burning Plateau Down most particularly, because the people rejected the terrible immediate past, in a very clear vote, any attempt to reverse the will of the People through Judicial negotiations would be resisted with our last bloods.
