Following the ban of Naira Marley songs on Splash FM Ibadan, more radio stations have towed the same line.

The management of Fresh FM 106.9, in Ado Ekiti, has banned the songs of Marley from airing on the station until further notice.

The radio station’s decision was made known in a post shared on its Instagram handle (@freshfm1069adoekiti) and signed by its Head of production and Music Content, Oluwaseunfunmi Williams.

The post reads: “Following the public outcry from the general public trailing the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad), the alleged victimization from different videos going viral and the involvement of members of his previous record label (Marlian records), Fresh 106.9 fm has suspended the airplay of all songs and contents under the banner of Marlian Records.”

Also, Agidigbo FM in Ibadan has also banned Naira Marley songs indefinitely.

According to a Twitter post by Aderonke Adesola, a presenter at the station, the management places an indefinite ban on the songs of the CEO of Marlian Records.

She said Marley’s songs have been placed on “Not to Be Broadcast” (NTTB) on the radio frequencies by the station’s management.

The post read: “Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.”

“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.”

Meanwhile, some private Radio Stations in Ekiti State, on Tuesday blacklisted all songs under the banner of the Marlian Records label.

Similarly, the Station Manager of Newcruse Fm, Joshua Adegbite also confirmed that “songs from the stable of Marlian records has been banned here till further notice”

The development comes amidst the criticism surrounding Naira Marley following the death of MohBad.

After several videos surfaced on social media, Marley, whose original name is Azeez Fashola, has been accused of bullying Mohbad to death.

Fans and supporters of the late rapper accused Marley and music promoter Sam Larry of being responsible for the singer’s death.
