Photo of Ikot Effanga Primary School in Calabar, Cross River state have attracted huge Knocks for Governor Bassey Otu and his administration.

A Nigerian journalist and the publisher of CrossRiverWatch, Agba Jalingo, on Monday, October 16th, took to his Facebook page to share the photo of the pupils learning while sitting on the bare floor.

As a result, this has generated reactions from Nigerians with many criticizing the governor of Cross River.

@Ashiwel Khai: “This is government primary school Ikot Effanga calabar. My primary education was done here. In primary four I had a lovely mother for a teacher. She was in her 60s (judging from how bent she was and her eyes) but she could teach and knew how to convince children into learning.

“She was and is the driving force behind me wanting to go into education.

“Today I stumbled upon this picture posted by Agba Jalingo stating how the school has fallen behind. Without government looking to revamp it. I remember during the reign of His Excellency Donald Duke we used to have free education, text books (some kids even had double) with proper monthly supervision.

“Please your Excellency Prince Bassey Otu, look into this matter. Ha! This is in calabar oooooo not even in a remote rural settlement. But Calabar… Oooooo. My calabar my calabar”

@Unimike Delight: “The present commissioner for education should see his good works at SUBBED as immediate past chairman of the board! Good work, more work. Congratulations”

@Effiong Akpama: “Our focus is on politics not education.”

@Ndifreke Ekong: “This happened when we were having two Professor in the Seats I hope with the Sweetness of this era He will change things.”

@Abumniye Eric: “Ikot Effanga Primary School in Calabar Municipality.
Under two professors as Governor and Deputy as of months back.”
