His resignation was confirmed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr Makut Simon Macham.

2. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar

Rufai Abubakar who was appointed as the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), officially tendered his resignation to President Bola Tinubu on Saturday, August 24th, 2024.

Abubakar had taken over the reins of the NIA after his predecessor, Ayo Oke, was suspended in April 2017 by former President Muhammadu Buhari over allegations of fraud.
