Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has publicly expressed gratitude to several celebrities who supported him financially during his time in prison.

Bobrisky took to Instagram to acknowledge these individuals for their generosity while he was serving his sentence.

Bobrisky was released from jail on August 5 after completing a six-month sentence. He had been convicted for naira abuse, an offence that drew significant attention and led to his imprisonment.

The sentence was handed down by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, who emphasized that there would be no option for a fine, making the sentence more stringent.

Justice Awogboro stated that the punishment was intended to serve as a deterrent to others who might consider disrespecting the Naira, Nigeria’s national currency.

In his Instagram post on Saturday, Bobrisky named several celebrities who reached out to him during his time behind bars.

Among those he mentioned were music stars Tiwa Savage and Niniola, as well as actresses Eniola Ajao, Funke Akindele, and Tonto Dikeh. These celebrities were highlighted for their kindness and willingness to offer support during his difficult period.
