Hon. Adabanija Kamorudeen Oladepo Mayegun, a loyalist of former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has mistakenly announced the exit of Aregbesola and his supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement, which was made on his Facebook page on Sunday evening, quickly gained traction and caused a stir within political circles and among supporters.

Mayegun, had initially posted that Aregbesola and his loyalists were pulling out of the APC and would soon be announcing a new political party.

He posted, “Breaking News; Rauf Aregbesola, loyalists finally pull out of APC, to announce new party soon. Details later.”

This declaration immediately sparked speculation about a significant shift in the political landscape, especially within the APC.

However, just hours later, the loyalist realized his mistake and issued a public retraction, apologizing for the error.

He clarified that the announcement was a miscommunication and that Aregbesola and his loyalists had not left the APC.

The original post was deleted, and an apology was issued, with the loyalist expressing regret for the confusion caused.

“The news that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and loyalists leaving APC was an error and hereby deleted. I am sorry,” he said.
