How FG Will Pay ₦77,000 Minimum Wage To Corps Members – NYSC
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured the corp members that the Federal Government will pay the promised N77,000 allowance to them.
In a statement on Thursday by the Edo State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Frances Ifeoma disclosed that while the delay persists, corps members can rest assured that their expected 77,000 will be paid retroactively, starting from July 2024.
She disclosed further that the adjustment affects 2023 Batch C Corps members, who will receivetheir expected 77,000 to their bank accounts once the government releases the funds.
She said, “This is to inform the Corps members, Corps employers and other NYSC stakeholders that the Federal Government has not yet released the promised increment in the personal allowance to Corps members. However, arrears will be paid into Corps members accounts with effect from July 2024. 2023 Batch C Corps members should be rest assured that all their entitlements will be paid.”
Recall that the Corps members received N33,000 for their September allowance instead of the expected 77,000.
