Cleric charges Christian to celebrates Christmas moderately
Pastor John Igbokwe, the Superintendent, Ife District Coordinating Council (DCC), Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), has said that Christians should celebrates Christmas moderately.
Igbokwe gave the charge during an interview with our Correspondent on Sunday, in Ile-Ife.
He explained that Nigeria present economic downturn is no more news, for it’s being written in the Bible that at the last day, perilous time shall come.
According to him, other countries are facing economic depression too, but in Nigeria we are richly blessed, only to manage it to the advantage of masses, is what we are praying for.
He observed that Christians suppose to be spiritually filled and since God is spirit, spiritual ones need to know the mind of God.
“And those that serve God must serve Him in truth and in spirit”. He quoted.
The DCC Superintendent tasked genuinely born again Christian to be self-denied, for this will prepare them to face the challenges of life, for anything will not catch them unaware.
The Cleric emphasised that genuinely born again Christian need to know the mind of God and solely rely on Him, for He’s the author and the finishers of their faith.
He admonished them to be well organized and be moderate in whatever they want to do so as to capable of paying their children school fees when they resume.
“I advised them not to go beyond their capacity, but only what can afford and things that are necessary for this Yuletide.
“Christian suppose to be the light of the world and must allow their light to shine to others so that darkness will not to be able to comprehend it.
“They should maintain peaceful coexistence amidst their community,be honest, should eschew defrauding the country”. He explained.
He urged Christian to receive Holy Spirit baptism, live holy and acceptable unto the Lord; should continue praying for the peace of Nigeria and should disseminate the dividends of democracy rightly.
