The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South-South Zone (Zone B), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his groundbreaking decision to decentralize the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.

Speaking on behalf of the leadership of NANS South-South, the Director of Action and Mobilization, Distinguished Comrade Ovie Eseoghene Israel (CNS), described the initiative as a significant step forward in Nigeria’s aviation education and training.

According to Comrade Israel, this development demonstrates President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality aviation education across the nation.

The South-South zone, which is set to host one of the newly established NCAT campuses in Delta State, stands to benefit immensely from this initiative.

Comrade Israel noted that the decision will not only improve access to aviation training for the youth of the region but also contribute to the economic development of the South-South through job creation and skill acquisition.

“This is a visionary decision that will strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector by improving efficiency, ensuring broader national coverage, and addressing the industry’s operational challenges,” Comrade Israel stated.

The NANS South-South leadership pledged its unwavering support for the implementation of the project and called on all stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring its success.

They emphasized that the establishment of an NCAT campus in Delta State would create a ripple effect of opportunities for aspiring aviation professionals and foster regional development.

“This decision is not just about aviation; it’s about equity, national development, and empowering the youth with the skills they need to excel in a critical sector of the economy,” the statement concluded.

The NANS South-South zone has reiterated its readiness to partner with relevant agencies to ensure the smooth execution of this initiative, which is poised to reposition Nigeria’s aviation industry for global competitiveness.
