The Alaketu of Ketu-Designate, Oba Adekoya Adefowora Babajide, has paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, at the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife, where he received royal blessings ahead of his ascension to the throne.

Oba Babajide, accompanied by his family, relatives, and notable members of the Ketu Kingdom, visited the Ooni on Wednesday to seek his prayers and ancestral support.

The visit symbolised the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties. The visit was marked by cultural displays, traditional prayers, and symbolic rites, reflecting the deep ancestral bond between Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba civilisation, and Ketu, one of its ancient settlements.

The gathering also featured traditional dances and prayers.

While addressing the Ooni, the Alaketu-Designate expressed his commitment to serving his people with dedication and ensuring that their interests remain paramount.

He reaffirmed his love for the Ketu Kingdom and pledged to uphold its traditions and customs while fostering unity and development.

In his response, Ooni Ogunwusi welcomed the visiting monarch and commended his devotion to his people.

The revered traditional ruler emphasised the importance of leadership guided by wisdom, service, and respect for the will of the people.

He prayed for Oba Babajide’s reign to be prosperous and peaceful, urging him to always prioritise the well-being of his subjects.
