King Sunny Ade’s Children In War Of Words Over Music Legend’s Whereabouts

Fresh controversy has erupted in the household of legendary juju musician, Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade (KSA), as some of his children have taken to social media in a bitter exchange over his whereabouts and well-being.
The drama, which has since spilled into the public domain, was triggered by a series of posts made by one of KSA’s daughters, Damilola Esther, who accused her step-brother, Dayo, of holding the veteran musician hostage.
She further alleged that Dayo, whom she described as acting as the singer’s manager, had been booking performances without fulfilling the engagements and withholding access to their father’s phones.
In one of her fiery posts, Damilola wrote, “Dad told my brother that he wants to go home. Where is he? Where are his phones? He has not been online or picking his calls. Where is he?” She did not stop there, as she also demanded Dayo’s apprehension for alleged financial impropriety, claiming, “I want Dayo (manager) apprehended. I want him to provide all the money they have been stealing from him. He has a UK visa, thinking he can run.”
In a swift reaction, Dayo dismissed the accusations as baseless and misleading.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with Punch Online, he clarified that their father was neither missing nor held against his will.
“The allegation is false,” he said. “On Saturday, my dad performed at a 60th birthday party in Victoria Island, Lagos. He also has a show lined up in Akure on May 1.” Dayo insisted that he was not the official manager of KSA but had merely been assisting their father out of goodwill, pending the appointment of a formal manager.
Another son, David, also lent his voice, affirming that the music legend is in good health and that the allegations stem from misinformation.
He pledged to release further evidence to dispel public doubt.
