The ancient town of Ikorodu stood still on Thursday, 1st May, 2025, as Abefsat Ventures Multistream held what many have described as a landmark grassroots empowerment summit—drawing an unprecedented crowd of residents, traders, entrepreneurs and wellness enthusiasts from across Lagos and beyond.

The atmosphere was electric as participants trooped in early, eager to tap into a dual offering of natural health remedies and financial independence strategies.

Anchored by the vibrant and articulate Mrs Ibrahim Tawakalitu, a respected Silver Awardee in the Abefsat network, the summit was anything but ordinary. She stood in for the initiative’s renowned visionaries—Mrs Toyin Samuel (popularly known as “Our Momma”) and Mrs Oyeledun Banjoko (a.k.a. Abike Gold)—both widely celebrated across South-West Nigeria for championing sustainable community development through self-help models.

Attendees were treated to practical sessions on the healing powers of locally-sourced products such as Jinja Herbal Extract and Iru Herbal Antiseptic Soap.

These products, now staples in many homes, were presented as affordable and effective health solutions deeply rooted in traditional knowledge.

On the financial front, participants were introduced to Abefsat’s structured enterprise model, designed to lift ordinary Nigerians from the grip of poverty through mentoring, business modules and cooperative support systems.

The high point of the event featured stirring addresses by notable community figures, including Honourable Oke Bukunmi, who charged attendees to take responsibility for their well-being and economic future.

Other dignitaries present included Mrs Risikat Adeola Onabajo, pioneer principal of Rotary Vocational Training Centre; Alhaji F.M.B.Y. Makanjuola Bamidele of Orisun Igbala Muslim Cooperative Union; and community leaders like Leader Seyi Ajiboye and Alhaja Serifat Gbagba.

The gathering ended with awards, testimonials and a powerful closing charge by Leader Olushola Gabriel Bankole, fondly called Banki, who urged residents not to waste the opportunity laid before them: “This is our time to rise,” he declared.
