NAOSS NHQ Concludes Maiden Essay Competition, Announces Winners

The National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), National Headquarters, has formally announced the successful conclusion of the Maiden Edition of its Essay Writing Competition for 2025, an academic initiative proudly anchored under the office of the Vice President III, representing Osun West Senatorial District.

In an official statement issued by Comrade Salawu Azeez Adebayo, popularly known as Imole, who serves as Vice President III of the Association, the competition was described as “a timely step in rekindling the academic spirit among Osun students nationwide.”
Emerging at the top of the keenly contested essay challenge is Folaranmi Caleb, a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, who clinched the first prize.
The second position went to Agbaje Ganiyu of Kwara State Polytechnic, while Amoo Aminat A. from Osun State University took third place.
The Vice President III, who also doubles as the Chairman of NAOSS in the Osun West Senatorial District, commended all participants for their intellectual courage and enthusiasm, noting that their submissions reflected “depth, diligence and a strong grasp of contemporary academic discourse.”
“We are immensely proud of every student who took part in this initiative. It was not merely about winning, but about creating a platform for intellectual expression and academic growth among our members,” Imole stated.
Special recognition was given to the sponsor of the competition, Alhaji Adebayo Waliyu Oladosu, popularly referred to as ROVET, for his unwavering support.

Describing him as a “pillar of educational advancement,” NAOSS leadership expressed heartfelt appreciation for his sponsorship, which they said was instrumental in bringing the programme to life.
“Alhaji Rovet’s contribution goes beyond financial support; it is an investment in the future of Osun students. His gesture has added immense value to our academic development efforts,” the statement read.
The Association reiterated its commitment to initiatives that promote learning, critical thinking and the empowerment of Osun students across all institutions of learning in Nigeria.
