Two Osun PDP Chieftains Dump Party

Two prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Hon. Gbenga Falope (Faloo) and Pastor Oyedeji Olu-Kehinde, have resigned their membership from the party, citing internal party issues and personal convictions.

DTRUTH INSIGHTS reports that Hon. Falope, a two-term aspirant for the Osun State House of Assembly and founder of several political support groups in Obokun Local Government Area, in a letter dated 14th May, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ward 10 Chairman in Ilare Ijesa, said his decision to leave the party was borne out of longstanding dissatisfaction with the internal mechanisms of the party.

He decried the unjust treatment he had experienced despite his financial, moral and political contributions to the party over the years.

Falope, who stated that he had consulted widely with his supporters before reaching the decision, noted that exiting the PDP was the best way to safeguard the interest of his people and community.

“Given that politics revolves around serving the people, and having enjoyed the support of my constituents… we have collectively decided that exiting the party would be the best step forward,” the letter read.

Similarly, Pastor Oyedeji Olu-Kehinde, in a separate resignation letter dated 17th May, 2025, also addressed to the PDP Ward 10 Chairman in Ilare-Ijesa, said he was stepping away from the party after due consultations with his political and spiritual leaders.

He attributed his resignation to what he described as “vision cracks within the political family,” which he said conflicted with his personal political beliefs.
