Modesty Meets Modernity As Markazud Da’wah Holds Annual Sisters’ Awareness Programme On May 31st

A renowned Islamic Institute, Markazud Da’wah Wathaqoofatil Islamiyyah, is set to hold its Annual Sisters’ Awareness Programme (SAP 3.0) on Saturday, 31st May, 2025, at the Baptist Grammar School, Ilare, Sabo, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
This year’s edition, themed “Modesty & Modernity”, aims to educate, inspire, and empower Muslim sisters through lectures, vocational training, and other enriching activities.
The event, which will commence at 10 a.m., features two seasoned speakers – Hajia Sakeenah Adeyinka, who will speak on “Upholding Modesty Amidst Modern Influences”, and Dr. Rafiat Lawal, a consultant psychiatrist from FMC, Abeokuta, who will deliver a lecture on the topic “You Are Enough.”
In a statement made available to our correspondent, the organisers said the programme is designed to blend Islamic values with contemporary realities, while strengthening the identity and confidence of Muslim women.
Among the side attractions are vocational training sessions, riddles and jokes, pick-and-talk activities, and other mind-stimulating engagements geared towards personal and spiritual development.
“This programme is not just a gathering; it is an experience that touches the mind, soul, and skill,” one of the organisers, Shukroh Hussein, said while speaking with DTRUTH INSIGHTS.
She added that SAP 3.0 would be “engaging, inspiring, educating and mind-blowing.”
Sponsorship for the event is being coordinated through Markazud Da’wah’s First Bank account (2034073003), while enquiries can be directed to Azeezah Onilede (09063493541), Shukhroh Hussein (08127556165), or Khadijah Abiojutu (07049180620).
The organisers encouraged Muslim women within and outside Ile-Ife to take advantage of the opportunity to deepen their understanding of modesty in a modern world while acquiring practical skills that can aid their personal growth.
