Mr. Engonga, son of Baltasar Engonga Edjoo, President of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), is accused not only of embezzling nearly $1 billion but also of maintaining illicit relationships with the wives and daughters of some of the region’s most prominent figures.

Reports had it that the scandal erupted after investigators seized Mr Engonga’s computer equipment during a corruption probe, revealing the extent of the alleged affairs. His partners reportedly include the wives of powerful officials, including the Director of Security, the Attorney General, and various ministers, along with close family members such as his younger brother’s wife and his uncle’s pregnant wife.

It is alleged that a member of the presidential security staff, whose wife is also said to be one of the women involved, orchestrated the leak of these videos.
