Just In: INEC Declares Winner Of Anambra Governorship Election
The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has been declared the winner of the Anambra State governorship election.
Soludo, who is the incumbent governor, defeated 15 other candidates after securing overwhelming votes across the state’s 21 local government areas.
Soludo recorded strong performances across all LGAs, maintaining a wide margin ahead of his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu.
The election, held in 5,720 polling units, saw APGA consolidate its dominance as Soludo swept major strongholds and outpaced other contenders in both rural and urban centres.
Ukachukwu emerged as Soludo’s nearest challenger, finishing second after polling significant votes but falling short of the numbers required to unseat the incumbent.
While Soludo had 422,664 votes in total, Ukachukwu of APC gathered 99,445 votes.
