Senior EFCC Official Commits Suicide In Abuja
A top official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday has committed suicide.
The deceased took his life at his residence in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
According to Punch, the EFCC official whose identity has not been revealed, was a member of Course 5 of the anti-graft agency’s academy.
Speaking to newsmen, EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale said an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the sad incident.
He added that the agency is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family challenges, that may have contributed to the operative committing suicide.
Oyewale said the Commission will not issue any statement or release the operative’s name pending the conclusion of the investigation.
