All Roads Lead to Abuja as Plateau PDP Mobilizes for 2026 National Convention
The Plateau State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified mobilization efforts ahead of the party’s 2026 Elective National Convention, scheduled to hold from March 29 to 30 in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Dr. Samaila Achigak A. Rukuba, the party called on all loyal members, stakeholders, and accredited delegates from Plateau State to converge at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, venue of the convention, for what it described as a defining moment in the history of the PDP.
According to the statement, the convention is not merely a routine gathering but a critical turning point that will determine the future direction, unity, and strength of the party at both state and national levels.
“The time has come for all delegates to show up, stand firm, and actively participate in shaping the destiny of our great party,” the statement read.
“This convention represents a decisive opportunity to reclaim, rebuild, and reposition the PDP as a formidable force in Nigeria’s democratic landscape.”
The Plateau PDP emphasized that it remains fully mobilized and committed to playing a leading role in the convention, noting that its members are united, resolute, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to the party’s rebirth.
Reaffirming Plateau’s historical significance within the PDP, the statement described the state as a pillar of strength whose voice and participation will be crucial at this critical juncture. It urged delegates to demonstrate courage, loyalty, and a shared commitment to the founding ideals of the party.
The party further called for unity among members, stressing the need to set aside differences and present a common front capable of restoring public confidence and strengthening internal cohesion.
As preparations reach their peak, anticipation continues to build around the Abuja gathering, with party faithful across the country expected to participate in what many observers see as a pivotal convention for the PDP.
The Plateau PDP concluded by wishing all delegates a safe journey to Abuja, expressing confidence that the state’s presence will be strongly felt throughout the proceedings.
