Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Moshood Adeoti, has officially joined the Accord Party and declared his support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s bid for a second term in office.

Adeoti announced his defection on Tuesday during a town hall meeting held in Osogbo, where he addressed his supporters drawn from across the state.

The gathering had representatives from all polling units and the 332 wards in Osun State in attendance.

Speaking at the meeting, the former SSG explained that his decision to join the Accord Party and align with Governor Adeleke was reached after wide-ranging consultations with his followers and key stakeholders across the state.

He said the endorsement was a collective resolve, anchored on what he described as the noticeable transformation and developmental strides recorded in Osun State under the Adeleke administration over the last three years.

Adeoti also praised the current leadership style in the state, noting that the government remains closely connected to the people.

According to him, those in positions of authority are home-based and live among the citizens they serve, a factor he said has strengthened trust and accountability.

He urged his supporters to remain united and committed as they work alongside Governor Adeleke and the Accord Party to confront the political opposition led by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the coming political contest.
