The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State Chapter, has once again demonstrated that true leadership is not defined by slogans, but by compassion, presence, and responsibility to the people.

Today in Angwan Rukuba, the PDP translated its ideals into concrete action by delivering relief materials and standing firmly with victims of the recent devastation—at a time when many others chose silence and absence.

At the Palace of the Chief, the seven District Heads of the Anaguta Nation, alongside other respected traditional leaders, openly acknowledged this rare and timely intervention. In their words, no political party had ever extended condolences at such depth and sincerity—raising a fundamental question: why do some only remember the people during campaign seasons?

However, as rightly emphasized by Chief Keffas Ropshik Keffiano, this intervention was not about politics, but about humanity and shared responsibility, even as the community appreciated the goodwill expressed.

This moment clearly reinforces a defining truth—the PDP is not a seasonal platform; it is a people-centered movement committed to Nigerians at all times.

The delegation, led by BoT member Hon. Johnbul Shekarau and the State Chairman, Hon. Peter Mankum Tongshep, alongside key party leaders and stakeholders, offered prayers, comfort, and a strong message of unity, vigilance, and resilience to the affected community.

Special recognition was given to the youths of Angwan Rukuba for their maturity and restraint in the face of provocation. Youth leaders including Comrade Mark Yusuf, Comrade Emmanuel Daniel, Indelible Ayiki, and David Amali were commended for choosing peace over violence—an example worthy of emulation across Plateau State and beyond.

Upon visiting the victims, the scale of devastation was both visible and deeply heartbreaking. “Mama Promise” stood out as a powerful symbol of the collective pain and loss endured by many families—serving as a reminder that leadership must always be humane, responsive, and present.

In a practical demonstration of its commitment, the PDP provided the following support to directly affected families:

100 bags of rice

17 bags of maize

20 bags of corn

₦2,000,000 in financial assistance

This intervention is not merely a donation—it is a statement of values and people-centered responsibility.

The PDP firmly believes that governance is about people, not politics. It is about standing with citizens in their darkest hours—not appearing only when it is politically convenient.

As Plateau State and Nigeria at large look toward the future, moments like this reaffirm that the PDP remains the most prepared, compassionate, and people-driven platform to restore trust, unity, and purposeful leadership—where service is not dictated by political timing, but by genuine commitment to the people.

The prayers offered by the Ward Head, invoking divine blessings and restoration for the PDP, reflect the deep and enduring connection between the party and the grassroots.

The message is clear: PDP is back—not just in words, but in action.

Signed:
Dr. Samaila Achigak A. Rukuba
State Publicity Secretary
