The colloquium, themed “Functional Education: A Panacea to Effective Leadership and National Development,” is designed to foster robust conversations around the future of education, leadership development, and nation-building within the Southwest region and beyond.
According to the host who is the Director of Campus Affairs II, NANS Southwest, Comrade Oyetumbi Abiola Tayo, said the one-day event will feature a keynote address, panel discussions, stakeholder engagement sessions, leadership networking, and an awards presentation aimed at recognising outstanding contributions to student leadership and educational advancement.
The gathering is expected to attract Student Union executives from tertiary institutions across the Southwest, NANS leaders, policymakers, education administrators, and other critical stakeholders committed to strengthening Nigeria’s education sector.
Speaking ahead of the event, Comrade Oyetumbi Abiola Tayo described the colloquium as a strategic platform to bridge the gap between student leadership and policy formulation, stressing that functional education remains central to producing visionary leaders capable of driving sustainable national development.
