TMC Ile-Ife Holds Annual Ramadan Lecture, Calls For Restoration Of Family Values
The Muslim Congress (TMC), Ile-Ife Branch, on Saturday, held its annual Ramadan Lecture, drawing a large gathering of Islamic scholars, community leaders, youths, and dignitaries from across the ancient city.

The well-attended lecture, held in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, featured a renowned Islamic scholar, Ustadh Sa’eed Salman, who delivered a thought-provoking discourse on the theme, “Restoring the Home.”

In his lecture, Ustadh Salman emphasized the urgent need to rebuild family values, strengthen moral upbringing, and reestablish the home as the foundation of a righteous society.

He urged parents to take full responsibility for the spiritual and moral development of their children, stressing that the home remains the first school of every child.

According to him, many societal challenges confronting the nation today can be traced to negligence in parenting and a gradual departure from Islamic teachings within the family structure.

The scholar further admonished fathers to reclaim their leadership roles within the home, while encouraging mothers to continue nurturing their children with love, discipline, and sound Islamic guidance.
He called on couples to promote mutual respect, effective communication, and regular family devotion as tools for restoring peace and harmony in their households.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Imam of Ife, Alhaji Abdulhamid Abdulsamii, commended TMC for sustaining the tradition of organizing impactful Ramadan lectures.

He noted that the theme was timely, especially in a period when many homes are facing moral and social challenges.
The Chief Imam charged Muslim families to uphold Islamic principles and ensure that their homes reflect the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
He also urged the Muslim community to use the Ramadan period as an opportunity for deep reflection, repentance, and renewed commitment to righteous living.
According to him, restoring the home is a collective responsibility that requires cooperation among parents, religious leaders, and the wider community.
