“Our Administration Provided Free Transportation To Students” – FUOYE Outgoing SUG President Says, Highlights Achievements
The Students Union President of Federal University of Oye (FUOYE), Comrade Ebo Timileyin Jonathan, PKA Ijoba, has listed key achievements successfully completed by his administration.
He stated this while speaking with Oye Online during an exclusive interview.
Ijoba said the journey has been challenging, but the results speak for themselves.
He addes that his administration provided free transportation to students of the university.
According to him, “One of the notable achievements is the production of ID cards for students. This initiative was a crucial step in ensuring that every student has a valid identification card, which is essential for various administrative and security purposes. The process was streamlined to ensure that students received their ID cards promptly, enhancing their sense of belonging and security on campus.
“Another major accomplishment was the successful conveyance of over 150 students from Oye to Ibadan free of charge. This initiative was particularly beneficial for students who needed to travel for academic or personal reasons but were constrained by financial limitations. The free transport service was a testament to the administration’s commitment to easing the financial burden on students and improving their overall well-being.
“In addition to these initiatives, the FUOYESUG administration worked diligently to reduce the proposed school fees, hostel rent, and other fees. This effort involved close collaboration with the sitting executive and was conducted with utmost transparency. Although not widely known among the general student populace, this initiative significantly eased the financial pressure on students and their families.
“The administration also fulfilled all promises made by the university management regarding the enhancement of security, lighting, and safety on campus. These improvements were essential in creating a conducive learning environment and ensuring the safety of all students. The enhanced security measures included the installation of additional lighting in key areas and the deployment of security personnel to maintain order and safety.
“Numerous programs were organized by the FUOYESUG administration, such as the Treasury Summit, Dinner Night, and Trade Fair. These events were not only educational and informative but also provided opportunities for students to network and engage in extracurricular activities. The successful execution of these programs showcased the administration’s dedication to the holistic development of students.
“A significant milestone for the FUOYESUG administration is the upcoming capital project. Although details are yet to be fully disclosed, Comr. Jonathan assured that the project is in progress and will be revealed upon completion. This capital project is expected to have a lasting impact on the university community, addressing critical infrastructure needs and improving the quality of life for students.
“The administration’s ability to secure sponsorships to pay the school fees for over 25 students is another commendable achievement. This initiative provided much-needed financial relief for students who were struggling to meet their tuition obligations. By reaching out to sponsors, the FUOYESUG administration demonstrated its commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students’ academic pursuits.”
However, he assured that the most substantial project is currently in progress and will be evident once completed.
