Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, thousands of supporters loyal to former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, have officially joined the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.

DTRUTH INSIGHTS reports that the decampees, largely drawn from the Omisore Youth Support Forum (OYSF), were received at a well-attended ceremony held at the PDP State Secretariat in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Leading the charge on behalf of the PDP was the party’s State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, who welcomed the new decampees with open arms.

Also present to receive the defectors were notable figures including the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuff, and several other party stalwarts.

In a symbolic gesture to mark their political rebirth, Hon. Bisi announced the renaming of the group from Omisore Youth Support Forum to Adeleke Youth Support Forum (AYSF), signifying their endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership and re-election ambition in 2026.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Mr Francis Fasogbon declared that their decision to switch allegiance was borne out of admiration for the performance of Governor Adeleke.

“We are inspired by the good governance being delivered by Governor Ademola Adeleke. He has shown capacity, compassion, and commitment to the welfare of the people,” Fasogbon noted.
