Osun APC Member Remanded In Prison For Threatening Gov Adeleke

A member of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Dolapo Gafar, popularly known as Governor Ifedolapo was on Tuesday remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre, Ibadan after failure to meet the bail condition granted him by a Magistrate Court in Ibadan.

Gafar, who is popularly known as Governor Ifedolapo Osun on Facebook, was brought before the Magistrate Court, Iyaganku Ibadan on Tuesday after a video he posted on his verified Facebook page went viral, in which he issued a direct threat to the life of the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

In the controversial video, Gafar threatened that he would deal with the Governor Adeleke and make life unbearable and miserable for him should he attempt to join the APC.

He ominously stated that the governor would “beg for death” after experiencing the consequences of his actions if he were to defect to the party.

The charge against Gafar arose from a petition submitted by the Chief Security Officer to Governor Adeleke, CSP Adefisoye Kazeem and Barr Nurudeen Kareem, the Special Adviser to Governor Adeleke on Legal Matters.

Their complaint prompted law enforcement officers to apprehend Gafar and arraign him before a Magistrate’s Court in Iyaganku, Oyo State.

During the proceedings, Magistrate O.O Ogunkami issued a preliminary ruling, granting Rasaq Ifedolapo a bail set at N2.5million with two sureties.

Additionally, the court stipulated that one of the sureties must be his relative and the other must be gainfully employed and possess landed property within the jurisdiction of the Court.

However, Rasaq Ifedolapo Gafar was remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre after he failed to meet the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned till November 13th, 2025 for further hearing.
